The fascinating physics underlying η and η′ mesons can be studied theoretically and experimentally in various contexts. In this presentation we want to turn our attention to two important uncorrelated aspects of this vivid research field which provide yet unexpected challenges or surprises. First we discuss open questions in the theoretical treatment of Coulombinteraction in the context of reac...

In this paper, we exhibit, for any sparse enough increasing sequence {pn} of integers, totally minimal, totally uniquely ergodic, and topologically mixing systems (X,T ) and (X ′, T ′) and f ∈ C(X) for which the averages 1 N ∑N−1 n=0 f(T nx) fail to converge on a residual set in X , and where there exists x′ ∈ X ′ with x′ / ∈ {T ′pnx′}.
متن کاملQuark Mixing and Cp Violation
The present status of quark mixing and CP violation in the s tandard six quark model is reviewed in view of the recent experimental ( b ---* u transit ion, B 0 / ~ 0 mixing, el/e) and theoretical (progress in the calculation of the hadronic matr ix elements) developments. Implications of the da ta on B 0 / ~ 0 mixing, ~ and el/e for the value of the top quark mass (mr) are discussed in detail. ...
متن کاملProposed search for a(0)(0)(980)-f(0)(980) mixing in polarization phenomena.
The K+ and K0 meson mass difference induces the mixing of the a(0)(0)(980) and f(0)(980) resonances, the amplitude of which, between the K+K- and K0(-)K(0) thresholds, is large in magnitude, of the order of m(K)m(2)(K0)sqrt[-m(2)(K+)] approximately sqrt[alpha] m(2)(K), and possesses the phase sharply varying by about 90 degrees. We suggest performing the polarized target experiments on the reac...
متن کاملStructure relations for the bivariate big q-Jacobi polynomials
The bivariate big q-Jacobi polynomials are defined by [3] Pn,k(x, y; a, b, c, d; q) := Pn−k(y; a, bcq , dq; q) y(dq/y; q)k Pk (x/y; c, b, d/y; q) (n ≥ 0; k = 0, 1, . . . , n), where q ∈ (0, 1), 0 < aq, bq, cq < 1, d < 0, and Pm(t;α, β, γ; q) are univariate big q-Jacobi polynomials, Pm(t;α, β, γ; q) := 3φ2 ( q−m, αβq, t αq, γq ∣∣∣∣ q; q) (m ≥ 0) (see, e.g., [1, Section 7.3]). We give structure r...
